AI on dashboards: How It Works
AI on dashboards
Dreamdata's Analytics Agent helps you create, customize, and update dashboards. You can ask AI to build a dashboard for you, make changes to individual widgets, or configure widgets manually.
Enable AI on an existing dashboard
You can easily enable AI on an existing dashboard without affecting your original dashboard or reports.
- Open an existing dashboard.
- Click Enable Dreamdata AI.
- Dreamdata creates a separate copy of your dashboard with AI enabled.
The new AI dashboard is independent of the original dashboard and its underlying reports. Changes made to widgets in the AI dashboard, including changes made by AI, won't affect the original reports or dashboard. Deleting the AI dashboard also leaves the original dashboard and reports unchanged.
Add and edit widgets
Once AI is enabled, you can add and edit widgets directly from within the dashboard in two ways.
Use AI to make changes
Ask the Analytics Agent to add new widgets or update existing ones using natural language.
For example:
“Add a table showing our top LinkedIn campaigns by influenced MQL.”
AI will create or update the relevant widget in your dashboard.
Add or edit widgets manually
You can also add widgets from existing reports, just as you do today.
When you add a widget from a report to an AI dashboard, Dreamdata creates a copy of that widget. This allows you to edit the widget independently in the AI dashboard without affecting the original report.
To edit a widget, either ask AI to make the changes or open the widget in the new configurator inside the dashboard.
How AI dashboards differ from existing dashboards
In standard dashboards, widgets are connected to their originating reports. If you update a widget in a report, the changes are automatically reflected in any dashboard containing that widget. To edit the widget, you must return to the originating report.
AI dashboards work differently. Their widgets are independent copies, allowing you to edit them directly inside the dashboard using AI or the configurator. Changes won't be reflected anywhere else outside the dashboard.
This gives you greater flexibility to customize dashboards for your specific analytics needs without changing the underlying reports.
