Google Ads Enhanced Conversion: Hubspot vs Dreamdata

Updated by Mikkel Settnes

The Hubspot integration to Google Enhanced conversion allows you to create conversion events in Google Ads based on Lifecycle Stage changes on the Contact object. Read more here.

If you have tracking setup using Hubspot's native tracking then Hubspots Google Enhanced Conversion integration can be similar to Dreamdata in certain cases.

If you are not tracking your website through Hubspot, you cannot use the Hubspot integration to Google Enhanced Conversions

However, there are important differences you should be aware off, before choosing your integration to Google Enhanced Conversions

Similarities:

If part of your funnel is represented by changes to the contact lifecycle stage in Hubspot. And you only want to optimize Google Ads toward these stages.

Both Hubspot and Dreamdata will send the same information back to Google Ads.

Example: You want to optimize Google Ads towards Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs), which is defined similar in Hubspot and Dreamdata as a change in a contacts lifecycle to status 'Lead'. In this case either Dreamdata or Hubspot's integration can be used and give the same result.

Differences:

Dreamdata enables you to optimize towards your entire funnel where Hubspot only supports optimizing towards changes to the contact lifecycle stages.

You should be using the Dreamdata integration if you:

  1. You want to optimize against later funnel stages defined on the Deals object.
  2. You are using fields different from lifecycle stages on the contacts object to defined your funnel.

Exception: if you have setup Hubspot such that the lifecycle stages of contacts follow that of the deals that represent specific funnel stages, then the Hubspot integration can also be used to optimize your Google Ads against these funnel stages.

If you are not sure or if you want to optimize towards funnel stages represented by multiple deal objects, then Dreamdata's integration handles stages based on different objects out-of-the-box.
