LinkedIn Matched Audiences

Updated by Andreea Oprea

You can create precise audiences of contacts or companies based on activities performed, stages reached, or properties sourced from your CRM or enriched by Dreamdata using our Audience Builder. After creating these audiences, you can easily start sending them to LinkedIn to be able to use them in your campaigns for ad targeting (LinkedIn processing may take up to 48 hours). You only need to set this up once - after the initial setup Dreamdata will automatically send any updates (removals or additions) on your audiences to LinkedIn daily.

How to send an audience to LinkedIn?

  1. On Dreamdata's main menu, navigate to Audience Hub -> Syncs and select LinkedIn Matched Audiences.
  2. Click the Enable button to connect your LinkedIn account.
  3. Choose an Audience (contacts or companies) and the Ad Account for which you want to use the Audience from the 2 drop-downs available and click Save.
After saving a sync, Dreamdata will sent the following data to LinkedIn:
    For contacts:
    • Email Address (hashed)
    • First Name
    • Last Name
    • Job Title
    • Company
    • Country
    For companies:
    • Company name
    • Company Website Domain
    • Organization URN
    • Company Page Url
    • Industry
    • Country
    • State
    • City
    • Postal Code
The minimum audience size accepted by LinkedIn is 300 members
  4. You will be able to see a list with all saved audience sync settings and some properties:
    1. Ad Account name and ID - the name and ID for the selected Ad Account (click on it to be taken to your audience overview in LinkedIn)
    2. Audience name - the name of the used audience (click on it to be taken to your audience in Dreamdata)
    3. Count - the amount of companies or contacts that are sent to LinkedIn from the latest sync (audience count)
    4. Status - the status of the audience sync setting. If an audience sent through Dreamdata has been deleted from LinkedIn, the sync status shown for the sync using it will be Not found and the audience won't be recreated unless a new sync is added in Dreamdata. The other possible statuses from LinkedIn can be seen here.
    5. LinkedIn Count - the amount of members that match the audience in LinkedIn. The count is for the whole audience and is updated as the synced audience gets updated, always reflecting the total amount of members.
    6. Match Rate - the match rate for the audience in LinkedIn. This is calculated based on new members added to the audience in the last 7 days, which means the match rate can fluctuate a lot based on changes to the audience. Note: if there are no additions to the audience in the last 7 days the match rate will drop to 0%. The match rates will show as <5% if the list matched fewer than 300 members. Matched Audiences will only match members who have opted in from the EU, EEA, or Switzerland and, globally, members who have not opted out.
    7. Last Synced - the time when Dreamdata last synced the companies or contacts audience to LinkedIn
    8. Enabled - on means that we are continuously sending updates to LinkedIn based on updates to the audience (decide if you want to pause sending updates by turning it off)
    9. Delete - delete the audience sync settings from Dreamdata (note: this does not delete the audience from LinkedIn, you will have to do that directly in LinkedIn; no more updates will be sent to the audience if the audience sync is deleted from Dreamdata)
  5. You're all set 🔥 data will be automatically synced daily for any changes in the selected audience.
LinkedIn requires up to 48 hours for the initial processing of an audience, typically falling within a range of 24 to 48 hours.
